Hi,
I have a disturbing issue with Adobe Encore DVD v2
I author from mpeg2 compliant video files containing an AC3 5.1 audio track, recorded from my camcorder

Encore accepts and builds the DVD correctly, but, if I transcode the video, it will encode the audio to ac3 2 channels.

I would like to transcode my video keeping audio untouched or as ac3 5.1
Many thanks for your help

Also, sometimes, I noticed that built DVDs has sometimes the end of a video cut/removed. They show well on the preview, but the end is missing on the exported DVD

Again, many thanks for your help

Well, for any Encore DVD newbie like me.
I sorted this issue by demuxing mpg files to ac3 and mpv streams, using videoredo plus.
Set the "position marker" to first frame in time line by pressing PageUp button. Add the mpv stream to time line, then add the ac3 5.1 audio file.
Often, the files get out of sync at the end. But only by few millisecs. The problem is when you add other streams to the same time line, the video and audio out of sync issue continues to increase. To solve it, move to last frame by pressing PgDown key till the marker is positioned at the end of the longest stream (audio or movie), then add the next mpv stream first then the AC3 file. The will begin in sync even if previous clip is some millisecs out of sync.

You can correct sync issue is videoredo plus, but sadely, Adobe encore have a pitch position for audio at 0 or 0.4 msec. Often, out of sync is caused by that 0.4 msec error, that videoredo can't correct (1msec smallest interval).

This is method is from the book "Adobe Encore ...Classrooms series" book

If someone knows how to correct that 0.4 msec out of sync issue, please let us know
