View Full Version : AutoGK Suggestion - delay values for audio & subs

hi, i'm new to this forum and i have a problem with autogk.

i rip my dvd's wit dvd decrypter and almost every movie i rip has positive or negative delays in all audio and subtitle tracks (dvd decrypter is saving these delays in exact values in a text/logfile after ripping). fixing these delays manually is a real pain in the a** and makes no sense when i'm using autogk which is supposed to be a very easy and uncomplicated way to encode movies.

so my question/suggestin is:

is it possible to include a field for every audio and subtitle track where i can put the delay values in ms so autogk uses them to fix the delays.

autogk is a very good piece of software already, but wit these changes it would be beyond perfect :sly:

i am pretty sure that autogk fixes delay automatically... or i am so lucky to encounter NO audio delay in all rips :)

well to be honest audio delay is not that bad, but subtitle delays are often 20 seconds and more

Hi and welcome to the forum,

It seems you were ripping recent DVD with ARCCOS or RIPGUARD protection. If it is the case DvdDecrypter will need some help from Ripit4me (free) or AnyDvd (shareware).

I have near-perfect results with Rip4me (sometimes less than 10ms audio drift) in "movie only" mode, compatible for AGK input :)

You can get more information in the R4me thread here at Doom9.

BHH -> Yes AGK takes the delay given by DgIndex/DgDecode but DGDI cannot cope with these recent protections (has to do with small cells)

@m0nk_2

Hi!

Two minor corrections, if I may, regarding the excellent advice from "BigDid":

1) The program/package's correct name is "RipIt4Me"

2) If your DVD has a recent version of "ARccOS" copy protection, DVD Decrypter by itself, would not be able to rip it. Since you've stated the ability to rip the DVD(s) using only DVD Decrypter, it's unlikely that "ARccOS" copy protection is involved.

On the other hand, some "RipGuard" protected DVDs MAY be rippable by DVD Decrypter by itself, but the ripped DVD package of files will be less than accurate - and could result in the problem you've experienced...

thanx for the answers.

i used dvdfab (which i think eliminates any copy protection) to clone the dvd, then loaded the image in my virtual dvd drive and ripped the vobs with dvddecrypter.

I'd STRONGLY suggest that as already recommended, if you want to avoid possible synch problems, you should use the "RipIt4Me" package and NOT DVDFab Decrypter...
