View Full Version : "Fallen" unable to rip properly

I am having a bit of difficulty here. I have "Fallen" a 1998 movie that I purchased the DVD of about 4 years ago before all this DRM and protection crap made it big. It is a Warner Brothers feature that has both Standard and Widescreen versions on opposite sides. I have attempted to rip both sides and only get 7 files off the dvd for either side. I use Shrink to create an ISO as I have done with all the others that I have done this weekend but, when mounted it doesn't mount and autoplay like the others. It just shows me a directory listing. I attempted to play the DVD on my machine and I got no video whatsoever. I got sound, but it was like it was on fast-forward. I know the dvd works, as I have watched it and has always been in the box. What could I be missing or has anyone else ran into this problem? Also, I have tried RipIt4Me, with no luck either. DVDDecrypter shows it as a CSS protection scheme with no RCE protection. This is just wierd.

Have you tried cleaning the laser lens on your burner?
Also try cleaning the disc even though your standalone can read it, there could be a spot that your pc can't.

@Phaetos - you've been around long enough to know rule 12 by now (and the 5 minutes mentioned in the rule is metaphoric). Bumping your post may actually work against you by making some people not wanna help you. Be patient please.

Oddly enough, I keep seeing a reference to this Rule 12 but can't find it anywhere. The sticky only goes up to 9, where are the other 3? And last time I saw a reference to 12 it was in reference to not asking for the "best" of something. Which I wasn't doing. Just asking if anyone had had the same problems as I have on this one disc.

I know the dvd works, as I have watched it and has always been in the box. standalones tend to have a lower tolerance during playback as opposed to playing it on your PC's player. I have some scratched/defected DVDs that will play flawlessly on my standalone but give me problems when it comes time to rip it.
