Hi, i got an Error in the Prepare Phase.

DVDRebulider says:

Illegal video GOP Size, possible encryptet Source.. Aborting

Is the source really encryptet (ripped it with DVDDecrypter)?? Or could it result from my editing (remove some parts)??

check the DVDDecrypter log. Did it contain any errors?

Try ripping the DVD with a different program eg RipIt4Me or DVDFab Decrypter, and see if you get the same error

Did that already, forgott to mention

DVDDecrypter itself could not read a *.vob, but DVD is scratched bad. So i tried ripit4me and it worked to rip the disc on HD.

What version of DVD Decrypter are you using?

That means that the source is unreadable as MPEG. Usually (as the error implies) it is the result of encrypting or a source that hasn't be decrypted. It happens when DVD-RB finds more garbage in the stream than could ever exist in a legitimate source.

Now the interesting question would be, how to decrypt the Files :)

DVD Decrypter can do that -- but what you're seeing is probably not really encryption -- it is garbage from the scratches.

So there is no way to do a CCE reencode with this files??

Probably not unless you can fix those scratches. Unfortunately I have no idea if that's possible.

BTW this was a known bug on DVD Decrypter 3.2.0.0 but fixed in a later release. If you're using version 3.5.4.0 then it's not that.

You might think this is funny but I have fixed scratched discs with toothpaste and a soft cloth :)

Hmm, is there a option that disables the check from DVDRebuilder?? or maybe i can reencode without Rebuilder, just with CCE??

You might try DVD2SVCD, it will use CCE to re-encode and will output to movie only as DVD.

RipIt4Me will insert a dummy sectors where scratches are. FixVTS removed them and you will be left with globs of missing video - but the rip will be compliant.

However, try ISOPuzzle (http://www.geocities.com/marsoupilamis/) on your original - it works to recover scratched DVDs.

Ive been getting the same error msg ever since I upgraded to DVDfab Decrypter 3.0.*.* all versions, switched back to 2.9.*.* and all is fine. Think DVDfab has a bug with R4 PAL discs.

I believe there is a program called Dead Disk Doctor that is pretty good at pulling data off a badly scratched disk. Once on your hard drive you may need to mount it and decrypt / process like normal.

Good luck,

I have similar problem as Penecho, but I run into a paradox. I have a scrached DVD that nees to be decrypted.

I can create a ISO file on my harddisk with IsoPuzzle, but when I extract the DVD on my harddisk it needs to be decrypted.

However, it seems DVD Decrypter cannot open a DVD on the harddisk to decrypt it. Does anybody know how to decrypt a DVD on the harddisk???

I also tried to DVD Decrypt first but then the process stops at the scratch, so that did not help me.

As I am writing RipIt4Me seems to have fixed my problem, in the sense that it has copied almost the whole DVD to my hard disk now. But the question then remains if the scraches are just filled with a blank, will the DVD play well??

Thanks

If you have AnyDVD and Daemon Tools, and the disc is an ISO -- you can mount it and AnyDVD will decrypt it.

Similarly, you could mount the ISO with Daemon Tools and then DVD Decrypter could rip it.
