I browsed the forums here to even find a start of what I would need to do and saw that HDTVtoMPEG2 was recommended for putting the ts files in a format usable by DGIndex. I just wanted to do a sample encode so I put two of the .ts files into HDTVtoMPEG2 and made it one 200mb mpg file. I then took this file and tried to put it into DGIndex. I received the following error, "WARNING! Opening GOP is not closed. The first few frames may not be decoded correctly". I wasn't sure what that meant but ok'd the error and demuxed the video. After I encoded this in Gordian Knot the video was out of sync on only a 2min 50 second clip. I did a bit more reading and saw some people recommend VideoReDo for doing the same job as HDTVtoMPEG2. Loaded up the same two files in that joined them into a mpeg and loaded up that mpeg into DGIndex. I didn't get the error that I had received before so thought my problems were solved! Encoded and noticed the video was running at a faster speed than it should have been. After looking around in the program I realized that Gordian Knot was reading the .d2v file as 2min 18sec instead of the time it should have been. I've been trying different things in both of the programs for a while now and have yet to have any luck. Hate to be the "newbie" with no clue but just started trying this today and have gotten very frustrated. Any help or pointers that could possibly get me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks In Advance :)

p.s. Also tried projectx and wasn't able to get a resultant output that was compatable with Gordian Knot. (Yes I read the guides I could find for it)

DGIndex should be able to use the .TS file directly. You just need to set the PIDs for it to work, which isn't too difficult from within the program. However you may run into sync problems if there are errors (glitches) in the stream. If that is the case, I'd suggest sticking with ProjectX and have it demux your .TS file into .m2v (video) and whatever the audio is (AC3 for me). DGIndex should be able to easily handle the resulting .m2v file.

As for the Opening GOP not being closed, all that means is that the first couple of frames may not be correct. In fact, I think that in this case DGIndex will just output the first couple of frames as blank frames. An open GOP has refrences to a previous GOP, which is not there at the beginning of your clip.

If you plan on processing this clip as a whole, the rest should be pretty simple. If you plan on doing any editing though (cutting out commercials for example) things will get much more complicated. There are numerous threads on this board alone about sync problems when editing these clips. Check them out if you plan on venturing further. I'd suggest getting the hang of simple processing first though.
