View Full Version : A couple of minor quirks

First off, I wasn't sure if I should mention these here, as they're not serious bugs. They may also be seen as b*tching or nitpicking, which isn't my intention. Just something I have noticed. I'm using v1.12.1.

#1: When running batch jobs with preparations and editing done (Skip PREPARE Phase in Batch activated), after the batch is done, the bitrates are off. It's showing the bitrates of the first job.

BATCH SUMMARY
Batch Job #1 finished in 00299 minutes.
- HIGH/LOW/TYPICAL Bitrates: 4 470/1 229/3 291 Kbs

Batch Job #2 finished in 00139 minutes.
- HIGH/LOW/TYPICAL Bitrates: 4 470/1 229/3 291 Kbs

Batch Job #3 finished in 00285 minutes.
- HIGH/LOW/TYPICAL Bitrates: 4 470/1 229/3 291 Kbs

#2: After the #1 batch, RB defaults back to one click mode.

#3: After clicking too many segments to "no reencode" using the beta viewer/editor, Save and exit button is disabled. Can be circumvented by dragging the slider to 100% instead of using no reencode.

#1 has been around for a while. It apparently happens occasionally, but I've never personally experienced it -- I've looked to see how it could happen... I haven't been able to find it yet. Really odd.

I've never noticed #2 -- but it probably happens because the batch mode has to run in one-click mode. I'll check it out.

I'll also look at #3

I confirm #3, I have observed this as well.

#1 happens consistently on my system regardless of the build of DVDRB. If there's any information I can provide, let me know.

Interesting... because I can't make it happen on mine. I wish I could figure that one out. The code is very simple -- and it seems like its impossible for that to happen.

Alright. I think I know now how #1 can happen.

Are you doing the PREPARE in the batch? If not, that's the reason. The data displayed there is from PREPARE. It the PREPARE is skipped (during BATCH) it can't be displayed and all you'll see is the data from the last one PREPARED... I guess in that case I will have to either blank it out or store the line in the INF file...

Are you doing the PREPARE in the batch?

Nowadays I'm always skipping it, I use the beta viewer/editor to slideshow the credits and redistribute the bitrates. Don't use too much time to this, IMO it's not that important. I know the bitrates already from the preparing and editing :)

jdobbs-

Yes, I'm skipping prepare in the batch stage due to using the editor before saving to a project file. As TBL said, it's not a big deal.

#3: After clicking too many segments to "no reencode" using the beta viewer/editor, Save and exit button is disabled. Can be circumvented by dragging the slider to 100% instead of using no reencode.

In version 1.20.4 the problem with the disabling of the "Save and Exit" button seems to be solved, however the tick marks of "no reencode" disappear when reverting from another segment to a segment that had previously been ticked for "no reencode". Hence one still has to pull the slider to 100% to be sure.
If one does a Save and Exit and re-opens the editor again, the tick marks are all present, however.

A minor cosmetic issue only.
