Deactivate Macrovision?

How do i deactivate Macrovision so I can watch DVD movies on my DVD-ROM? About half of the DVD movies I rent i can not watch with my Tv-Out because the Tv-Out function is enabled, and i´ve understand that it is the Macrovision that does that. I´ve hears that i can use DVD Genie, but how? Need really fast help with this....Thanx! ;)

That has nothing do to with Macrovision

OK, so what is the problem? I get the following warning from PowerDVD(XP 4.0) when i try to run a movie - "This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled."
So what can I do?

That IS macrovision, and there are some patches for video cards out there to disable macrovision (ATI for sure), dunno about DVDGenie never used it. What video card have you got?

I´ve a Pine Excalibur Geforce2 MX400 64mb Tv-Out...

Well I've never seen a patch for the drivers... maybe there's a tweaker for your card out there which contains an option for macrovision...? As for DVDGenie, use the tab which says PowerDVD and there might be an option for it in there...

You didn't post this in your first posting. how should i now what you are meaning. This information is the key for a working solution.

Its the same, as you say your windows doesn't running correctly. But don't describe which problems you have. We are not able to read your mind!

Your problem sounds more like a lack of macrovision ... apparently your card cannot generate a MV signal or PowerDVD cannot recognize if MV is enabled ... PowerDVD then refuses to play the disc (in order to prevent you from taping it). This is quite a common problem with SiS VGA chipsets. I don't know any solution - maybe a more current version of your driver and/or disabling your TV-out can help.

It works if I disable the TV-Out, but that is what i need, i dont wanna watch a movie on a 17" monitor...

Try a different player software maybe ... WinDVD or even Herosofts Player (it is not on the same level as WinDVD or PowerDVD) ... or different/updated drivers? I am sorry but I can't help you there ...
