View Full Version : HDTV TS --> XviD, audio drift

I encode HDTV TS files to Xvid, maintaining full resolution and using AutoGK. More often than not, the audio will start out synchronized, but slowly drift so that by the end of the media file, it will be several hundred milliseconds out-of-sync.

My first question is, is AutoGK the right tool for the job or should I be using something else?

Is there something I can do to prevent the drift?

I've also tried converting HDTV to H.264, but my computer hangs up when I try to play them.

Are you trying to convert PAL <-> NTSC..? I've recently made a coaster because of that.
Just a thought.

Errors in .ts file are usually the culprit here, whether it be audio frames or video frames.

Try running your .ts file through the "QuickStream Fix" in VideoReDo.

VideoReDo is a great tool to make sure you clean up all those errors.
