.avi Heroes Episodes into a DVD

Hello, i tried looking for the answer wot this in the main site and in the forums but i don't think i know the terminology to find what i need lol. SO i have the Episodes for Heroes in my computer in .avi format and i need to make a DVD out of them for my friend when she comes back from UK. I tried Nero since i don't need fancy editing and menus, but Nero craps out on me every time. IS there another program to do this??

You might have captured these episodes during broadcast, yourself, into .avi format. If so, we consider this Fair Use of content, for your personal use only....i need to make a DVD out of them for my friend ...This is not Fair Use, by our definition. This is distribution.

According to www.imdb.com, "Heroes" is the intellectual property of NBC Universal Television, and they have only licensed distribution rights to three companies: National Broadcasting Company (NBC), CanWest Global Television Network, and The Sci-Fi Channel.
