View Full Version : Encode aborts at 50% in a non-DRMed WMV file, how can I solve it?

I am trying to encode a (freely downloadable) WMV I recently downloaded. The video has no DRM as I can play it back just fine on my computer, but when I try to step through it in VDub (plain or MOD) it shuts down, even if using this extremely simple script:

DirectShowSource("X:\wherever\video02.wmv",fps=25,audio=false)

And the 10+ time I attempted to encode it to Lagarith or MJPEG @ q18, VDub would shut down at about 50% completion. I also noticed that the input window would sporadically show a completely green frame.
Does anyone has an idea what could be happenning and how to fix it?

You'll probably want to post a link to it, if it is freely available, so that others can test out the crashing. I know the very latest cvs of avisynth has some more DSS fixes over 2.5.7RC1, but I haven't tested them yet.

I'm using 2.5.6 IIRC, so I'll try updating to the latest CVS and report back.

[edit]With 2.5.7 RC1, VDub doesn't crash, but I do get this error message:

And this (http://rapidshare.com/files/4184730/Errmsg.LOG.html) is what DebugView spits out. I'm currently redownloading the video since new videos seem to have been added, but once I confirm which one was the one that's giving me issues I'll post the link.
