I have a problem regarding watching this on my dvd player..

I burnt the xvid file (these are good quality) onto a cd and a dvd+r (tried both) and basically it would 'freeze' whenever i fast forward. The skipping is pretty bad as it often overfastforward or doesnt fast forward and freezes. Any ideas why? In additions the external subtitle (srt files) did not work either. It worked fine on the computer though..any ideas?

You really have to mention what model player it is, there are several different chipsets with widely varying features (and bugs). You might be able to get over some of the seeking problems by reducing the keyframe rate, but if it doesn't support subtitles you're probably up a creek there, and will have to burn them in.

Hi,

Bitrate spikes?

Can you try to give more details: SAP brand and model (I second Foxyshadis), Params or log for your problematic encoding like: Resize if any, bitrate, GMC, QPel, consecutive B-frames etc...
