View Full Version : Problematic Burn

This is going to be a much more vague issue than I usually post, but maybe someone will have some idea.

I tried to backup MI3. RB went fine; ImageBurn went fine. But the disc wouldn't play in my PS2 or my laptop. I was able to copy all the files on the disc back to my HD. I used Media Player Classic to play these files off my HD as if they were a DVD, and it played flawlessly. I passed these DVD files back through RB with no compression for it to reburn to a new disc, but I'm getting the same issue -- the disc won't play in my PS2 or laptop. The discs are Taiyo Yuden.

I don't even know what else to try from here. Any ideas?

Hi!

1) Are your T-Ys DVD-R or DVD+R format?

2) Have you burned the same format media previously and successfully played it on your PS2 and laptop?

3) There have, from time to time, been counterfeit T-Ys being sold

I don't know this page, but if they are original TY there's an easy way to check:
Near the inner ring there must be a label like TG000xxx ( <- +R 8x).
If there's nothing like that they are probably fakes.
