Hi!
If it's a "ripped" (copy protection removed) DVD, you can use VirtualDubMOD (Load a .VOB and select "Snapshot source frame" from the "Video" dropdown menu) or Play the DVD under WinDVD and press the "p" key.
The WinDVD methods can also be used with origina, copy protected DVDs...

MediaPlayer Classic offers the ability to "Save Images" from most video formats (to either .BMP or .JPG).
And if you install DVD43, MediaPlayer Classic will be able to "Save Images" from copy protected DVD's too!

In MPC my captures of anamorphic video are always stretched vertically. How do I capture in "WYSIWIG" format?

In MPC my captures of anamorphic video are always stretched vertically. How do I capture in "WYSIWIG" format?Actually, they are not stretched vertically, the are squeezed horizontally ;)
Anyways.... Open MPC, then click on: View -> Options -> Output and try selecting "VMR9 Windowed" mode.

This should work for anything:
1) Start > Run, then type "dxdiag".
2) Choose the Display tab, and click on "Disable" for DirectDraw Acceleration.
3) Then start whatever apps you want & do your screen captures.
Don't forget to put it back when you're done, or your system will run slow!
