Just backing up the Star Wars episodes that are the special edition versions

Two language tracks, French and English

They play happily in Media Player in the default English audio and menus, but when I run them through DVD-RB Pro, on my standalone they are defaulting to the French audio tracks and also start in the French menus

If I try to change the menus or audio to English, it appears to change but then the menus freeze and I have to open/close the DVD drawer to get the DVD to do anything

I'm using menu compression, nothing has been pre-processed, removed or altered in any way from the ripped disks they are run through DVD-RB Pro as they are

I have no subtitles and no audio tracks to be removed in the DVD-RB settings, so don't understand whats going wrong, I've not had this problem before with any other DVDs that have multiple languages or subtitles

I have noticed that there is ILVU video on some of the series, but I assume thats just being copied straight across with no processing by DVD-RB at all, but surely that shouldn't cause the default language to change

The final quality is very good, I'm running them through on 3-pass with CCE SP2 and avamat7 matrix, but each time I play the backed up DVD, it defaults to French not English as I assume it should

ILVU is certainly processed in the Pro Version -- but not the freeware. I can't see how that could be related, though.

I also can't imagine how two tracks could be swapped unless it is done in the Audio Remapping function. DVD-RB doesn't modify the audio stream ids at all... it just reintegrates the existing streams from the original into the new VOBs.

Are you doing a full or movie-only encode?

You may want to check you player and see if it is possibly set up for French as the default language?
