Hi

I have the Alpine Smart Nav 2006 disc running in an NVE-099 sat nav unit.

I want to make a copy of this disc and use the copy instead of the original.

I ran anydvd and then copied the ISO to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter and then made a copy onto a Verbatim DL DVD-R disc, but the copy would not run on my sat nav unit, I then tried using Nero and Alcohol 120% but both times the copied disc would not run.

I know my sat nav unit plays copied disc as my old 2003 disc was a copy that I had made (using the same method above).

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas I could try

Edited to add: I have also tried using Verbatim DL DVD+R discs with the book type set to DVD-ROM.

It's probably not a format that you can copy with a PC.

Well I have seen a copy disc for sale on Ebay and when i spoke to the guy we was prepared to come and see me and show me it working on my navi unit, so it must be possible.

I have never come across a navi disc which could not be copied before, I have always made back ups of everyone I have ever had

Try burning at a lower speed or on a different burner...

I have burned at the slowest speed possible.

Which burners would people recommend?

You may find the following thread (and the link provided in one of the posts in that thread) useful:

Hi

That thread on ImgBurn forum was started by me, but I had no luck there.

So I am trying to see if someone here is able to help, I would of thought trying to find out how to copy these discs would of been of interest to someone
