well I'm always going for 2 or 1CD rips/encodes for some years now and I didn't have any problems with multiplexin' (AC3 + XViD).
BUT... I now got 3 big encodes to make (I need 4-5CD for each one to fit it).
I've made the videos (3 of them) but when I try to multiplex them with the audio'AC3 5.1 usin' "nadub" the become _asynh_ //This is the 1st time it happens to me//
so... I've tried to multiplex them usin' "vdubMod"
they become like this--they play normal on the pc(+not asynh), but when I play them on the standalone _one of them wont play at all and the others just 'stuck' on some point.
I made some test and I reallize that the problem may be the SIZE of the files/when the file is 2CD's I have no problem - but when it's above 3CD it seems I always get the same problem.
ANY HELP ON THIS
pc-I really need at least 4CD for each otherwise I wouldn't even ask I would go for 2
THX anyway
respect
I've made this post here because I think that the issue is with the audio and not the video, but then again I'm not so sure...

The size limit for avi files to be burned in DVD and played without problems in standalone players is 2 GB (2.8 CD's in your units :) )

This has nothing to do with what I'm sayin'...
I did split them in CD's after the multiplex.

The problem is that when I make the encode 2CD's everything is ok with multiplexin' and the playback.
BUT when I make the encode above 3CD's I get 'asynh' and not a normal asynh were you can find the +/- ms, but an asynh which the video starts normal after a while the sound comes earlier than the pic and after a while again the sound comes after the pic. and that happens only on the pc as the standalone doesn't play it at all.
It's kinda strange that on 2cd's everything is normal, isn't it?
