I had installed everything again! And after that I wanted to covert a small avi file to mpg. I did it before but this time it does not work!

GSpot says the codec is DX50/divx with name divx 5.0

dvd2svcd worked often very good. If somebody can help that would be nice.

Here is some information:

OK. Firstly are you using D2SRoBa for the conversion or just DVD2SVCD on its own?

The reason I ask this is that instead of calling BeSweet to do the audio conversion, it is calling a file called BeSweetLater.bat, which is part of the D2SRoBa package. If you are not using D2SRoBa, reset the path to BeSweet.exe in the Audio tab.

Otherwise it would appear the process stops at video encoding. If you try to open the file "Avisynth_script_file.avs" using Windows Media Player, do you get video (doesn't matter if it's jerky or slow or whatever) or do you get red text? If you get text what does it say?

Thanks Nick,
Yes I'm using D2SROBA to start dvd2svcd! The reason is that I think that the files will be smaller if I use D2SROBA.

When I play the Avisynth_script_file.avs in Windows Media Player everything is allright: I see the film or at least a part of it.

Now trying to convert with dvd2svcd (without D2SRoBA) there was no problem!! The program made an mpg-file for me.

But I still think That it would be better to make it with D2SRoBA. Maybe the file would be smaller.

The final file size is dtermined by "CD Size" and the use of D2SRoBa or not will result in a final file size basically the same.

In your script above CD size was set to 1116, which is about 1 and a 1/2 CD's. Why not set to 1400 to fill up the second CD, will result in a higher bitrate and better final quality.

Thank You Chickenman!! But I like to go back to my starting problem.
I wanted to use D2SRoba. And in using D2Sroba everything went wrong.

Nick says the following :

But I was using D2SRoba. So my question is:Is there something wrong with the bsweetlater.bat file. As I told before: without D2SRoba and without this bsweetlater.bat file there was no problem. Or do You mean that it is better not to use D2SRoba for things like this.
I would not be very pleased because for sometime I had very nice resultswith D2SRoba

Well, I have been using D2SRoBa basically from the start with excellent results like you, however, in all my installations I have never seen the bsweetlater.bat file nor have I ever had my audio pointing to it. It may been that way by default years ago and I changed it, but it would had to have been many years ago. Its always pointed to BeSweet.exe until recent times. I prefer AC3 output rather than MP2, read all about it here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=102291

It's worth pointing out to those who might not know that AC3 is not valid for SVCD. Yes, PCs will play these and some standalone DVD players might, but anything other than MPEG audio is potentially asking for trouble.

@ Chickenman - take a look in the Tylo folder in your DVD2SVCD installation folder - BeSweetLater.bat is there, plain as a pikestaff.

It is used in D2SRoBa only in SVCD mode. It allows you to do audio encoding after video encoding, choosing a bitrate to fill what's left of the disc. If you use D2SRoBa exclusively in DVD mode, you'll never have seen it in use.

@JanVroegop - sadly I cannot see why D2SRoBa is not working for you. I would try uninstalling the DVD2SVCD bundle and CCE, then reinstalling.
