Hi, I'm a little new to using DVD2SVCD. I've been copying some of my movies to my laptop (for when I go on trips), but the video is coming out *way* too dark. Now, my first rip was fine, but subsequent 3 haven't worked out. I've tried playing the movies with WMP, WinAmp and VLC. I've tried muckin' around with monitor settings to no avail. Even playing rips that I haven't made on my main computer are turning out too dark. In all other cases (ie. Word, web, gaming) my video is fine. Any help/suggestions?
I'm using TMPGEnc as my encoder, and everything else is default. (Not a fan of the CCE banner floating around on my copies).

Hi!
In TMPGEnc, you might want to investigate the "Color correction" settings under the "Advanced" tab...

Ya, that was one of the first things I went after :) ... I don't understand why *anything* I play via WMP/VLC is coming out so dark. My gamma/colour settings on the monitor haven't changed (and, in fact, are fine with all my other apps).

One might indicate a problem in converting, while the other may indicate a playback-only problem...

Ya, sorry :o First rip, first time playing was fine... everything afterwards has been the issue. Not sure at all what setting[s] might have been altered (sent a trial rip to my brother and it played normally) to make playback an issue.

My gamma/colour settings on the monitor haven't changed (and, in fact, are fine with all my other apps).Check carefully to see if there is a SEPARATE SET of settings specifically for "VIDEO" display (versus "Desktop" display)...
