Replace a VOB file in a DVD

Hi Guys!

I received a DVD that I needed to retouch some logos. I imported the Vob files into Vegas, pixelated the images and copied the NEW VOB file back to the DVD replacing the old file.

The problem I have is that the DVD has a menu and when I click on the Menu to go to the specific scenes, it doesnt go to where it's supposed to go.

I'm guessing that this is because the bitrate of the new vob file is different (VBR) to the old one.

I've tried with DvdReMake Pro to edit the menu, but I can't make it work. When I export the DVD, I only see a black screen.

Does anyone knows how to do this?

You can't just copy the new VOB over the old one. Pointers and such are different. You need to REPLACE the old VTS with the new one.

Try doing this in VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm). Make sure the settings to fix always SRI/SYNCI pointers are enabled.

If your edited VOBs have associed IFOs (I don't know if Vegas creates IFOs also) you can also import them in your original DVD with the PgcEdit function File -> Replace VTST Titles.
If they don't have IFOs, VobBlanker is the solution, as blutach said.

I've tried VobBlanker and got nowhere. I guess i'd need to know what i'm doing a little bit more. Looks far too complicated, and got lost trying to fix my ifo file. Will see if I can try again over the weekend when my mind is a little bit more fresh.

Count your blessings. I have quite a few DVDs of classic Indian films with logos. Some logos are on all the time and some come and go and last for various lengths of time. They are in various degrees of transparency. Here's a pretty obnoxious one. Although it's fairly small as these things go, it can't really be erased entirely, as it's completely opaque. I just reencoded and greyscaled it:

This one's not so bad, as it's barely seen in the lower right corner. But just the idea of them being there pisses me off:

And those DVDs are commercial DVDs? Incredible! It's even worse than the US releases then!
