Help me edit this DVD with PgcEdit and VobBlanker

Ok, the DVD is Batman Begins disc 2, the special features disc.

All of the special features are in both english and french, becuase some of them are animated cartoons with text dialog. I would like to remove all French content so that I don't have to compress the video very much to fit on a SL DVD.

I was planning on blanking out all of the titles with French content with VobBlanker, and then editing the menus with PgcEdit.

The DVD starts with a simple two button menu, asking you for English or French. I want to get rid of this menu completley, since the French content will be gone. I guess the easy way to do this would be to remove the "French" button, but I would rather have the menu be completely invisible to the person watching the DVD.

First, I will need to replicate all the registers that occur when you select english. I can use trace and "copy changed" to manually set the registers, but then what? Will blanking the menu remove it, or do I have to remove the buttons first, and then blank the menu?

After replicating the registers, I'm kind of stuck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Getting rid of the lang selection menu is simple - do a kill playback in PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html).

Will that automatically set the registers, or do I still have to do that manually?

Automatic - when you Kill PB of a menu with buttons, PgcEdit asks you to pick a button. It adds the proper codes to the precommands.

Wow, that was super easy. I guess I didn't realize that the menu was a PGC that could be killed. Duh.

ok, next question:
When I killed the Menu, it asked me this:
NOTE: The VOB will not be modified.

You killed a Menu PGC playback

Do you want to remove also the
Program and Cells from the PGC?
This will allow to easily strip the
old cells with FixVTS or VobBlanker.

I wasn't sure how to answer this. Can I get some explanation?
What exactly is it removing?

Since FixVTS is removes orphaned cells, is this step deliberatly removing references to the menu content? Isn't that what I did while killing the menu playback?

Once I've killed the menu, can't I just blank out the related title/cells with VobBlanker either way?

Exactly. If you accept this option, PgcEdit will remove the cell completely. To strip it out of the VOBs and regain the disc space, you can simply process the domain with FixVTS.

Killing w/o this option is a method to skip the display, but the cells are still accociated with the PGC, and cannot be removed completely (although, of course, you can blank them with VobBlanker.)
