I use my own batch script frontend of xvid_encraw+lame+oggenc, plus ogm chapter, PAR, audio support. I have also added xvid_encraw_hvs support recently.

It appears to - I just started two dozen encodes with GK and the latest XviD, and several have finished successfully (and beautifully) already.

Xvid 1.1.2 works for me in GK, my last 3 encodes went fine

I don't think the poll works. You need different tools to accomplish different objectives in the simplest way for the purpose. I use all of AGK, StaxRip, Fairuse Wizard, and VDubMod...

I just tried Staxrip today and it works wodenderful, although it use almost the same external tools than GK and AutoGK (VDMod, avisynth, besweet...) the interface it's much clean than GK and it's incredible more customizable than AutoGK, it allow video cutting, job manager, profiling, templates, can manage most known formats and it comes with a extensive well documented help. The best tool for people who want a great result without going into scripting. Thanks a lot Stax!

Sadly, I think it's safe to mention that "StaxRip" is no longer being developed - Indeed, Stax has not posted anything on the forum since May 28 2006 and has not visited since Sep 27 2006

I'd say that's wrong, MeGUI has a one-click mode for a reason, and does a decent (not perfect) job of being reasonably user-friendly. StaxRip and RealAnime are certainly simpler, but MeGUI is both more versatile and nearly as simple if you stick to a basic one-click+profiles. You don't really need to know much about avisynth or x264 at all to use it.

I tried to set the input file and MeGui and it said I was missing some DVDDecrypter info file, I thought how silly is that. DVDDecrypter has not been devloped in a over a year.

I finally voted, no surprise I use AutoGK and to extend it's ability to use some avisynth filters or script I also Use AGK-PAL.

Before AGKPal I also used marginally VirtualdubMod or AR-Calculator.

I try to use also AutoMKV but have not enough time to get pass the basics :(

No problem on your side, just lack of time on my side, MkvMagic was a bit complicated (compared to AGK) so I tried AutoMkv and have no time ATM to get comparable results to AGK (for both programs)
Please continue the good work and maybe at one time I'll have time to master another program.

If you use CQ I have some profiles that will give you AutoGK quality. If you are interested let me know and I can send them to you. The question that you have to ask "If you are using XviD and your container is avi (for SAPs), and the quality is the same as AutoGK, why do it?" I guess you do it to get flexibility; if you need that.

Personally, I am starting to do more work with DivX. The Dr. 2 is as easy to use as AutoGK, but has an advanced mode so you can get to all the features. In addition you can add "non burned" subtitles and chapters, with easy to use tools. The Dr will take about any input format. And I personally think that the DivX 6.4 codec picture quality is every bit as good as XviD 1.2.

Still love XviD though.

I also tried FUW and liked it. But, I put a couple of very basic questions on their support forum. Like "what version of XviD do you use (since XviD is internal)". And never got any answer; it made me "mad" so I quit using their product. Rather childish, I agree. Don't know if giving them $20 for their product and then refusing to use it is adequate punishment for their lack of support.
