View Full Version : Question about DMCA, Google Video, and Myself

Hello

I just got an e-mail from Google saying one of the videos I uploaded was removed by request of the copyright holder via DMCA.

Well I have another video on there from a different artist who's on the same record label. So my question is, should I go ahead and remove that other video myself, or not.

I'm thinking I should, but wanted to ask for advice first.

Thanks.

Post youtube link, or name the video.

Well, if the copyright holder asked Google to remove the content, it's not like wether you agree/choose to keep it will really matter. If it's okay material, it probably wont be deleted, or else Google will remove it themselves, and only tell you afterwards.

The video that was removed was Namie Amuro's "The Speed Star", the video I was wondering if I should just remove myself is BoA's "Be The One".

Both artist are on the Avex record label, which is why I asked. I just didn't know if a second DMCA request would cause any real trouble for me. Like lawsuit or suspension of Google account.

I didn't post a link because I was worried about that falling under rule 6, but you can see videos I uploaded to Google Video by doing a search on my name.
