What are the advantages of putting a DVD ISO in a Virtual Drive like Daemon Tools?

I think it's because if you screw up a backup you can go back to the virtual drive and find the original rip in perfect condition and start over without having to rip over. This would be because the ISO in Daemon Tools is read only.

Is that right?

I've been having some trouble lately with some backups and I've had to start from scratch several times. Will burning and loading an ISO in Deamon Tools make things easier for me when I have to redo a project in Rebuilder Pro or DVD Shrink?

it's often useful if you want to extract just a small part of a DVD image you've already ripped.

also, if you've ripped an iso, but then decide you want to set a new layer break with PGCedit, you can rip the virtual DVD with decrypter at very nice speeds.

bascially it's just a workflow advantage, and it rarely comes up. but it's worth having daemontools for those times it saves your bacon :)

It's incredibly nice to have CD Images of all your software and media. I generally make an image of any software I buy and stash the originals in a cd case that I seldom open.

Running installers off a virtual drive is very fast..
