I am a little new to convert from DVD to Xvid. I rented a DVD from my library to rip and convert it to Xvid like my pal had done. hes away on holiday for a month (A MONTH? yeah..... i know) but i want to learn myself to convert DVD to Xvid and rip subtitles from it. Its the friends Series 3. I wonder what tools i would need it read on a post on video help and here.

I would need AutoGK and a DVD ripping program i have DVD Decrypter and subrip to rip subtitles from the DVD is that correct? i also want a menu to pick which episode i want to watch. it has 25 episodes 8 on each dvd. i want them all on 1 or 2 DVD is this possible? Now i never used AutoGK, so I don't know what the settings are and etc.... so do i just the the settings as it is??

Hi!I rented a DVD from my library to rip and convert it to XvidSince you've had a previous thread closed here because it referred to copying a DVD that you didn't own, I'll mention that this new post by you seems to also be in violation of the rules of these forums...

Come on, Deaf Raiders,

Either learn the rules around here, or go back to Videohelp.com. Read the rules, especially Rule 6:

and this announcement at the top of this very same forum:
ATTENTION: Read this before posting! Especially on downloaded movies, or movies you do not own!

@Deaf Raiders

It's apparent that you have no concept of why legitimate DVD owners create backups and/or compressed version of their purchased DVDs...

@ Deaf
You think you're smart right?
First, the law allows you to do backups of DVDs you own.
Second, I'm an Anime fan and am usually OBLIGED to do backups because the original DVD is interlaced and therefore doesn't look good on PC, so I do a backup version that is progressive solely to be able to watch it on my PC without cursing!
Third, you seem to forget that there are DVD recorders out there that, guess what? record on DVD! You can do with those DVDs whatever you want!
Fourth, you seem to forget that there are portable video players out there. Do you buy the same movie 2 times? No, you buy it once on DVD, you convert it to whatever format your player supports.
Fifth, you're going in holiday and you have a laptop. Do you bring your original DVDs with you? No, you convert them to DivX and store them on your hard drive!
Sixth, you have an HTPC. What can you do? rip all your movies to its hard disc and can access all of them without moving from your chair!
ETC ETC ETC!

Besides, you do whatever you want in your own 4 walls, but don't come here and try to sabotage a serious forum just because YOU don't have enough insight to see the legal consequences for the site owner!
