Hi everyone,
I have recently been having audio problems with some backups, the main film is fine but on the extras there is no audio. I've had this problem on firefly disc 6, scrubs season 4 disc 4, a mighty wind and silent hill, everything is fine on main film but on extras it plays fine but with no audio.
I have been using dvd shrink 3.2 and recordnow burner, I set dvdshrink as suggested on the website. Is this a common problem, is there a easy fix or I'm I just doing something silly.
Grateful for any help or suggestions.
Thanks

Hi!
make sure you haven't DEselected the applicable audiostream(s) in DVD Shrink...

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
No I haven't deselected the audio, however I have noticed that when I open the extras menu in dvdshrink it says no audio streams on the compression, right hand side of the menu.
There is audio on the original dvd but dvdshrink doesn't seem to read it, I've tried different audio preferences other than stereo but still don't get audio and I don't know why.
Any ideas?

DVDShrink>>Edit>>Preferences>>Preferences(Tab) - Is there a tick mark in the box next to "Hide audio and subpictures of insignificant size"? If so, uncheck it.
DVDShrink>>Edit>>Preferences>>Streams - make sure that for "Audio language and coding type" you've selected "All languages" and "All formats"

Hi,
(DVDShrink>>Edit>>Preferences>>Preferences(Tab) - Is there a tick mark in the box next to "Hide audio and subpictures of insignificant size"? If so, uncheck it.)
This was checked, I've unchecked it now shows the audio in the compression window
DVDShrink>>Edit>>Preferences>>Streams - make sure that for "Audio language and coding type" you've selected "All languages" and "All formats"
This is how I had it.
For the rest of the settings I've just followed the guide for dvdshrink. Its still the same no audio with extras, I even tried burning it with nero, as I said this only happens with some dvds, very annoying.
Any other ideas?

I've unchecked it now shows the audio in the compression windowGood - so now back to my first suggestion:
make sure you haven't DEselected the applicable audiostream(s) in the "Compression" window...

There's nothing else left, so I'll ask:
1) Does your original, purchased DVD play audio (on the same system) for the extras?
2) Have you tried pressing the "Audio" button on your remote (one or more times), to select a different audiostream when playing the extras?

Hi,
The original plays fine and even if I switch audio channels there is still no sound. It is strange because it only happens on a few dvds.
I think I will have to give up as I am totally lost as to the solution, thanks for the help anyway.

Are you using any OTHER program in conjunction with DVD Shrink, such as AnyDVD or DVD43, to rip these problematic DVDs?
If so, TURN THEM OFF and instead try re-ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package. You can download this excellent freeware from:
www.ripit4me.org
While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...
