Hello All.

I have a quick question about hardware settings. I just got a LCD 32" Widescreen TV. I have my standalone DVD player set at 16:9 as well as my Satellite tuner. My TV has 5 apsect ratio settings:

16:9, 14:9, 4:3, zoom, panorama[? Im guessing pan&scan].

My TV set to output 16:9 to match the DVD player and Sat tuner outputs. Is this the correct thing to do? Sometimes I get some really thick bars when watching Sat TV?

A small question: If you watch a normal program (News for example), do you get black bars on the right and on the left?

If you don't, you'll probably have to change the setting on your TV manually everytime the broadcast format changes. That means everytime you see hamburger heads (or egg heads :D), you'll have to switch until you get normal heads.

A small comment to close: On Philips 16:9 TVs, 16:9 means the upper and bottom parts of a normal 4:3 picture will get cut. To get an anamorphic 16:9 picture coming from DVD displayed correctly, the TV must be on "Full Screen". May be "Full Screen" on Philips TVs is "Panorama" on yours.
