i backed up the movie "the patriot" to my harddrive in iso form. it has been on my computer for awhile, so i decieded to burn it off. i used clonedvd and anydvd to do this.
the process went ok. that night while i was at work i decided to watch it. i only was able to watch half. so when i got home i put the dvd in to continue. it would not play, said no disk. i have 3 different dvd players in my house and all 3 no go. i took it to my brothers and tried it on his 2 dvd players, still nothing. it will not play on the computer either. so last night i took it back to work to try it on there dvdplayer again and it played with no problem. anyone know why?:(

As far as I know, there are really few burners able to burn a DVD-9 correctly. Currently, you have to use ImgBurn or PgcEdit. ImgBurn is the best choice to burn an ISO. Avoid Nero, CloneDVD and probably all other burners.

Also, use only reliable media. Verbatim is known to be good. Most other brands will produce a coaster.

Note that the fact that your bad copy can be played on a PC doesn't mean at all that it is compatible with a standalone player. The original IFO files must be modified by the burning program to handle properly the layer break. This is why most burning programs are not reliables.
