Yet another guide you don't seem to read - http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/guides/VobBlanker/motion2still/index.php
Anyway, MenuShrink (http://jean.laroche.free.fr/MenuShrink/) is easier and better.

Easier, yes, absolutely. VobBlanker allows you to do a little more customized menu, but the simplicity of use of MenuShrink is really amazing.
But better..... both produce the most of the cases exactly the same output.

I agree, jsoto. Your program is equivalent to MenuShrink. And MenuShrink is easier only if you don't need to do other things. VobBlanker is largely more powerful. I like especially the possibility to replace the shrinked menu by a BMP.
Indeed, menu shrinking has been developed by you and jeanl at the same time, based on the same idea, and exactly the same method is used internally. Only the GUI is different, and that is only a matter of taste.

My apologies - no criticism was intended. And I also love the ability to substitute your own BMPs. A great innovation.

OK thanks. I took a look at that guide and think I'll stick to Menu Shrink for now. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to do it with VobBlanker.

My apologies
Not needed, blu..
I answered the post because I was wondering if you have found other bug in VobBlanker....

LOL, not yet muy amigo!
I love the new additions to the TMAPI area and the identification of the cells that do not agree between _C_ADT and _PGCITI - makes things, soooooooooo easy.

dunno if anyone reading this thread anymore, but what exactly is this method? i mean does MenuShrink decode the selected frame to a bitmap and re-encode it to mpeg2 or does it simple extract the selected frame?
is there any recoding/quality loss?

No, the selected I frame is kept unchanged.
