I asked this a few days ago on the VirtualDub Newbie forum, but have not even gotten a "you can't DO that". So I thought I would try here.

I have several panoramas, jpg files created by splicing individual images. Is there any tool which will create a video which pans along (horizontally or vertically) such a file? I would like control over the rate of pan.

Thank you much. I'll try it in the morning. First I have to see if Corel PP will "make a movie" of a image 2150 pixels wide!

You can do it with Avisynth. ImageSource(). Or VirtualDub can do it too, I believe.

You can create an .AVI from a still JPEG image (and possibly other formats) by using VirtualDubMOD (different than standard VirtualDub), as follows:

1) Name your image "01image.jpg" or "image01.jpg" (The critical part is the 01 - the rest of the name is up to you)

2) Load the image into VirtualDubMOD and, from the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Frame Rate"

3) Select "Change to __ frames per second" - and enter the decimal complement of the amount of time you want the image to stay on screen (e.g. 0.1 frames per second = 10 seconds)

4) Save with a new filename
