WME9 trouble

WME9 will not recognize my avs file? verified video in VirtualDub (it plays) any suggestions? Also did a uninstall/reinstall on the encoder and now I get a unspecified error when I cancel wizard and click on properties. The source tab is now unavailable?

I'm not sure what happened there during the WME install/reinstall, but in order to use .avs sources in WME9 you need to specify "Both device and file" in the Sources tab.

I made sure this was checked. I made sure that I have the most current versions of DGIndex and AviSynth. the .avs file plays in VirtualDub, not sure what I am doing wrong after going through those instructions over and over... I want to get the kids movies on my hard drive so I can stream them to the xbox 360. is there an alternate route I can take? I have been following the instructions from http://www.wmwiki.com/mcored/index.htm

You could try the command-line script encoder mentioned in http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=111633. Download the latest .zip archive. If that doesn't work, let me know what error you're getting.

I had this problem and solved. It's not WME fault, check your decoders.

what do you recommend for converting .vob to .wmv for playback. A easy no hassle way? Quality is not an issue as long as it looks decent for viewing by the kids.

I think most people use Nvidia PureVideo decoder for direct .vob transcoding. A higher quality, but certainly more complex approach, would be to use DGIndex and Avisynth to decode the VOB.
