Problem with Xmpeg 5.03

Hi,

The problem is with the dvd of matrix revolutions (double layer dvd), I've ripped the main movie (VTS_01_0. ifo and 7 vob files) using dvd decrypter, all went fine in xmpeg until I realized that at time to encode xmpeg doesn't encode the whole movie but only the first half of it.
The xmpeg player display the whole movie without problem but at some point of the seeking bar (close to the middle of the movie, 0.57.30-frame 82.718) the time stamp starts again from 0.00.00 until the end of the movie (1.11.44-frame 103196), like if the movie was splitted or xmpeg would be reading by layers, the fact is that at time to encode xmpeg encode only the first 57.30 minutes.

Is this a bug in xmpeg?
There is any way to encode the whole movie using xmpeg?

*I opened the ifo with ifoedit and just where the time stamp is reset in Xmpeg I found this line:

Could be the problem in the .Ifo? if yes, how can I fix that file in order that Xmpeg takes the movie rightly?

Xmpeg settings:

Video: 672x288, 23.976fps, Xvid 2pass 1320kbps
Audio: Mp3 192kbps 48khz

Hi!There is any way to encode the whole movie with xmpeg?I don't know about encoding it with XMPEG but, you can readily do this with MPEG Mediator...

Thanks for reply setarip_old, I already tried MPEG Mediator 1.5 and it works fine for encoding but I found that is not so versatile like xmpeg at time to crop or resize, for example, MPEG mediator don't offer any info about the output picture size after crop & resize, I also notice that it crops even so looks like you cannot crop for example 78p from top and 82p from bottom but only 80 & 80. Otherwise it looks very fast at time to encode, pity that the development has been stopped.

Well, looks like it's not the ifo.

* I removed the layer break in ifoedit but this didn't solve the problem
* So I made a new ifo with ifoedit but xmpeg still showing the time stamp wrongly
* I tried loading the vobs without any ifo, and got the same problem.

So probably there is something with that set of vobs that is wrong, any idea what could be? For ripping I used dvddecrypter (file mode, main movie) + anydvd 6 running in background.

it's been a while since i'd access flask/xmpeg; a really newbie friendly program

last time i'd use it, encodes stop around the 200min mark; i guess newer versions, newer bugs

try a different movie, if the same thing occurs, try an older version

Hello Ryo94,

Here is the solution: after you have selected you ifo, the video appears in your XMPEG player.

then you go to menu "option" and a window appears. you select the sub menu "general" and you check that the item "compil all" is selected and the item "use time stamp" is NOT selected.

This should reduce the risk to have your issue. BUT to be a 100% sure to avoid this problem I advice you after having done the above setting to go back to you XMPEG player and do the following:

you read the film for at least 0,05s and then you "pause" and select this as the start of conversion then you go to the end of you film and you stop it at some fraction of second of the end and you select it as the end of you conversion. This will secure you almost 100% succes.
