U2 Video from tomb raider dvd

I've ripped tomb raider ok, but am having problems with the u2 video on the same disc, i've tried dvd2svcd and smartripper/dvd2avi/tmpgenc but I get jerky bits of video with both. if i preview the video with dvd2avi straight after ripping you can see wavy lines every few seconds.

Sorry for the poor description, i'm still a lil bit new to this :D
