ati x800xt :Tv-out squashed.

Hi All!

I have my x800xt aiw connected with a scart cable to my PAL-B tube. The Problem is: the picture always looks a little squashed, no matter which settings i may change in the Overlay tab (Theatre mode/ aspect same as source / 4:3 )I had connected a nvidia and a radeon 9800 to this tv-set without problems, so this is just odd.
Plz help!

If you mean like a small black area on top and bottom, mine was a problem with drivers. Had to revert to 5.6 to have unsquashed tv-out again with widescreen movies. But if there's some switch that fixes it, I'd be interested to hear it too. Provided of course that this is the problem you're having :-)

uhm, i think so! but it maybe that you have used the newest driver with the damn control center only. with this software, i wasnt able to turn on overscan, so there are little black borders on the sides. try downloading the newest driver with the control panel (its a patched version).

the ati software/drivers arent really that good. i ve never had so many problems back then with my nvidia card...

Yeah that's how it is, they ditched the control panel and many users along with it. Thanks for the thumbs up, didn't know there were patched drivers..
