From DVD to VD

What is the easiest way to get "raw" video and audio from a dvd to work with in vd?

Rip it off the disk with DVD Decrypter (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm)and open vob in VD.

You could add some steps if you want:
DGIndex (http://neuron2.net/dgmpgdec/dgmpgdec.html) to get audio out, I recommend Belight (http://corecodec.org/projects/belight) for audio
m2v can be opened in VD or d2v can be opened in avisynth (http://www.avisynth.org/).
