DVD to AVI

alright sorry to bother people i have been backing up copies of my original disc for years now but i now want to convert some of them on to my media player for when i go traveling is there and if so what is the best one click method to get dvds to avi format and cheap as possible. oh and i have mpeg 4 converters but my media player is old and does not support them. at this rate i will be putting films on to my psp

Well, there's always DVD2AVI :p but you'll probably want to look at AutoGordianKnot, MeGUI, and StaxRip and see which one suits you best. AGK isn't really maintained anymore, but still works decently for xvid.

If you use MeGUI or StaxRip and x264, you'll have to use the PSP profile; I'm not aware of what restrictions there are on xvid, but setting it to home theater should be enough.
