I encoded Mission Impossible last night using GKnot. It is NTSC. I usually encode PAL dvd's but I got some NTSC DVD's from my sister in the states and don't have a whole lot of experience with them.

1 cd rip, divx3.11, 128kbit mp3: video looks great but after a few seconds the sound goes out of synch, I move ahead a few frames and the sound is back in synch for a few seconds then slowly goes back out of synch. Did I b0rk the fps settings? In the preview dvd2avi said FILM and fluctuated around 94% so I used Force Film. If this question is answered in a FAQ or guide I apologize but I can't find anything that addresses a synch problem quite like this. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

This is normal when your computer isn't fast enough to handle the bitrate that you encoded at. try a lower video bitrate, or lower resolution.

ah, I am running an Athlon XP 1700, an Asus A7v 266e board, and 512 DDR. I don't think speed is the problem. I figured it out though. I had made two projects, one with force film and one without. I had muxed the wrong soundtrack with the video (more than one time....)

Thanks for the reply but this time the problem was sitting in front of the pc.. : )

U may try the Audio=>Audio interleaving features of Virtual Dub or nanDub to get the sound synch again ;)

Coudl also be a player problem,.. try e.g. The Playa or Bsplayer.
