Someone I do a lot of computer work for, wants me to make a step by step video tutorial to convert movies to DVD format.
He has no interest in learning anything about how things work.
To get him to backup and restore his OS, I make step by step video tutorials and he has been following them for three years and still doesn't understand what a partition is.
-----
So what I need to find a method for converting video files or various encoding and resolutions to DVD.
To complicate matters the entire process has to be almost entirely linear and simple enough that it can be completed by someone watching a video tutorial.
A complex setup won't matter, as long as after I set it up someone can use it by following along with some video tutorials.
Menu's, Subtitles don't matter.
It can even me multiple programs, as long as the process can be described in a nearly linear sequences of steps.
BTW I like having to learn new information and skills. So I don't need/want detailed instructions or anything, all I need to know is what programs to learn and I am set.
What I would like if for someone knowledgeable to tell me to give programs A, B and C a try, or to convert the files to a common format with X, join then with Y and turn then into a DVD with Z.
Just remember I am looking for the simplest methods not the fastest or the "best".
Also if there simply isn't a way to convert different files to DVD without knowing the details then I need to know that as well so I can pass it along.
The best I found on my own is the film machine, which works great for DivX files of identical resolution with mp3 sound tracks. It hangs whenever I try to burn anything with an AC3 sound track.
