Hi all,
I want to test my home player with a file with ARS flag, in order to see if it works.
Is there any website which already contains some test files with ARS flag ?
:thanks:

Hi,
thks for the file @SeeMore,
but it seems it doesn't work at all, if I leave in Video setup, the option display as ORIGINAL, it appears on my CRT TV that the picture is cut on width and height too.. (like PanScan)
I've got another mode called TO COMPLETE, and with, the picture is correctly stretched to each side of my TV screen, but I was thinking it will not make the deal, as anamorphic movie with 2.35:1 ratio will not have black border on top and bottom..
I think anamorphic movie is not for me with my home player ..

this player doesn't support dynamic aspect ratio signalling over Scart or via WSS.
if you set the player to 16x9 it will always force the TV to 16x9 regardless if the DVD is 4x3.

You'll speak about DVD, I was speaking about Divx ..

The Silvercrest 6515 player is based around Zoran's Vaddis 888 chip-set, which is certainly capable of aspect ratio signalling detection.
However, if the players middle-ware (GUI) is anything like it's Aldi cousin, the Tevion DVD 8000, it wont display anything automatically... least not in the same way were used to with MediaTek and Sigma chip-set based players.

SeeMoreDigital,
Sorry to dig this older post but you're certainly one of the persons that could have the answer to my question.
Do you know if most recent MT1389 fw's support AR flags detection ?
I want to move to anamorphic encoding but fw support is a must.
Any help appreciated,
All the best,
Sharro

Do you know if most recent MT1389 fw's support AR flags detection ?All versions of MediaTek's MT1389 chip-set are capable of detecting AR signalling...
Weather all player manufacturers incorporate this feature within their players firmware is another matter.....

I just tested your "16.9 (720-to-1024x576).avi" and my dvp5960/12 played a full screen image on my lcd (signalled at 1080i).
Should I trust it detects ar signalling ?

Should I trust it detects ar signalling ?Difficult to say... Your player offers digital (via HDMI) and analogue (via composite, S-video and component) video output connections.
Try playing the file again without using any of your players "up-scaling" options.... And use one of the analogue video outputs.
