I just recently rebuilt my system. Now I find that all my mkv (x264) files play back with stutters. They never did this before. I don't remember what version of ffdshow I used previously but I just installed the latest one from the x264 homepage.

I believe it was the 11292005 version I was using previously but I'm not sure and I don't even know where to find that version anymore.

Any suggestions? I should add that all my mkv movies where encoded using MeGui HQ Slower profile.

Maybe try a different compile? ICL vs. GCC?

Here is the 20051129 build anyway: http://cutka.szm.sk/files/ffdshow-20051129.exe

Thanks!

Is there anther recent version you can recommend? It has to handle x264 and DVD's well. There are so many versions in the ffdshow thread that I don't know which to download.

I am using drevil_xxl's ffdshow-tryouts-20061025-rev446-sse2 (http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ffdshow-tryout/FFdshow-Tryouts-20061025-rev446-sse2.exe) and so far, so good. Of course, I haven't thrown anything and everything at this, since I updated only couple of days ago. You may want to stick to a version which you know is stable and which works for you - like 20051129.

Thanks I'll try that version.
