script for 1280x720p@50fps -> DVD (i or p) ?

Suggestions for a script to convert 720p50fps (1280x720p@50fps - AUS Adelaide Channel 2 HDTV) to DVD ?

For Adelaide Australia - with the new "ABC HDTV" at 720p, is this list up to date ?
CH2 - HDTV - 1280x720p @ 50fps (10MB/sec)
CH7 - SDTV - 720x576i @ 25fps (6.5MB/sec)
CH7 - HDTV - 720x576p @ 50fps (9MB/sec)
CH9 - SDTV - 720x576i @ 25fps (6.2MB/sec)
CH9 - HDTV - 1440x1088i @ 25fps (15.2MB/sec)
CH10 - SDTV - 704x576i @ 25fps (7MB/sec)
CH10 - HDTV - 1440x1088i @ 25fps (12.8MB/sec)

Then... can anyone clarify (or point to a link clarifying) for

For those who know about AVISYNTH and use the HC mpeg encoder, the script below was given to me to help convert 720p@50fps@16:9 to 567i@25fps@16:9 (apparently smoother than 576p) for DVD purposes...

if is Film source then chances are every 2 frames will be the same and a simple discard conversion straight to 25p will be best, via

Selecteven() # or SelectEvery(2,0) to keep 1st frame discard 2nd, or SelectEvery(2,1) to keep 2nd frame discard 1st ?

if not Film, use interlaced for better fluidity than discarding 2nd frame, make it into 25i instead
