Hi all...
A strange thing happened to me...
I have in my hands a DVD-r (i dont know who made it or how)
that plays on a deck dvd player but it is not even recognised from
a pc dvdrom. I tried with pioneer Player, pioneer writer, plextor writer and matshita writer. None of the above can even read the disc.
Can anyone tell me if that happened by mistake in authoring or is it on purpose? And if its on purpose how it is done.
Thanx in advance!

Hi!I have in my hands a DVD-r (i dont know who made it or how)Since you can't provide or haven't provided the most basic information - HOW it was created, the Title and Region of the DVD - there are far too many possible causes to even begin guessing at.
Also, your description that I've quoted is likely a violation of the rules of these forums...

I'll tell you what i know but i dont think that it will help you.
That DVD-r its NOT A MOVIE TITLE, i dont think its even regioned.-I cannot check that cause i cannot read it from pc.
Its some funny videoclips that someone has made on a dvd.
If my pc could read it or if i new how it was created, i would have found how to do it and i could provide you with more info that the deck dvd shows.
If anyone knows some possible reasons that the pc dvd cannot read a dvd-r but the deck can, please share it with me.
Thanx.
PS. How was i violating the forum rules?

Hi
I know your answer but I can't help you
I think what you mean is the DVD drive cannot recognize the disc. If I am right, then let me explain you.
Look, this thing happens for me sometimes. But I don't know why. We have about 6 DVD-rom models in our company. And whenever we find a DVD that is not readable (or no recognizable) with one drive, we try with other drives.
But really I don't know why some discs would be readable by a drive, but wouldn't readable with another drive.
Anyway, The only choice you have is try other drives. And the only hope you have is that because your DVD player can read it, BELEIVE that you can find a DSVD-ROM can read it.
Please try ASUS, I think you would be succeed.
Tell me the results please.

:) You are SOOOO correct!
The ASUS dvd player read it correct!!!
Do you think it is an authoring issue, a media issue or the way it was written???
