I saw this sort of topic before on the net but I really can't remember where it was, sorry if I repost & ask this again.

How do make background music fade out after clicked (activate) button on the menu. Can somebody give me a hint? :sly: Thanks!

It can't be done during the authoring process AFAIK, it must be done suring the audio production. You could feed the audio through some audio software that i would assume would offer the ability to fade out the music.

Thanks for your reply.
I can manage to make offline sound effect with Cool Edit Pro, but
I really saw one DVD has that sound effect. When you select any button on the menu, the background music will FADE OUT ( instead of cut off) and you will be directed to the branch you selected.

Im still hoping some expert here would give me hint on this trick.

@ zheng.

to be honest i am not sure if you will achieve your desired result. as far as i know (and zeul will have a better idea than me ;) ) but you would not have a seamless transition between the standard menu and the "fade out music" menu that will play after you select a button ... you will get a few second pause between the two which *could* ruin the effect you are after.

If you have a menu with 2 cells, one loop cell and one end (the fading) cell, then there is no (or at least a very short) pause. But the current background music will be interrupted and starts new at the end cell.

I have seen commercial DVDs with that feature. If you listen exactly to it, you will notice that the music is not continued, but is composed in a way, that this jump is only a little noticeable.

Thank you guys for idea.

goonix, you are seem right. the commercial DVD that I seen was simply with Piano notes as background music.
