View Full Version : Logo sound missing.

I was backing up a movie that I had pre-processed before with DVD-Remake. The exported DVD works fine without problems so maybe it is something related with rebuilder.
The thing is that I have left the studio logo (FOX), the menus and two languages (original and dubbed one).
Well, the logo is in the same VTS that the main movie. The main movie is PGC 1 and the logo is PGC 2. What I've seen is that for the logo it uses the same english (original) track than the full movie, but inside the track there are two streams. One is for the main movie and is referenced 0x80, the other for the logo is 0x83.
Well, I encode, rebuild and then test it. The only fault that I found is that there is no sound in the logo (the known drums), and I donīt know why.
The rest of dvd is okey. There is sound in the menus, I can watch the movie in english and in spanish without any problems.
What could it be?.

What happens if you don't preprocess?

It sounds ok, but then there are extras that I want to remove to gain space in the dvd.
But although I preprocess it, the sound is there. It only desappears after I send it to rebuilder.
I donīt know what is it, but there are two streams inside one track.

I'm sorry, but that really doesn't mean anything. It can still be (and probably is) the preprocessing that causes the problem. I've been down this road way too many times...
If you run it without preprocessing and you have a problem, then I can look at it...

Sorry, I understood you wrong. If I do a test without using compression (No compression option), would it be enough to see if it's not related with rebuilder?

What tracks are selected to keep in DVD-RB? Is it possible that you've removed the track that is the default for the logo? I don't think I understand completely from your description. Are you saying that the logo uses 0x83 as its soundtrack? If so, are you keeping it (it would be the 4th listed AC3 track on the original disc)?

I mean this:

The track 2 is director's comments so I disable it. As you can see, the logo sound it's in the same for the film but with other stream.
I hope that the images help you more what I'm trying to explain.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but according to what I see there, the logo is using 0x83... so when you remove it, the sound is gone. Just leave it in, it's only 2MB long anyway. I'd have to look at the audio attributes table in the IFO to know what is listed as tracks 2, 3, and 4... Can you send me the original IFO, the one from DVD ReMake, and the one from DVD-RB (to dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com )?
Is what you are showing in your links the original, or what it looks like after running DVD Remake? It isn't typical that track 0x83 would be put in the first audio position in the PGC (as it appears), especially with another stream id occupying the same position in another PGC, but it should be ok, as it's legal. I'll do a trace through the DVD-RB code and see if this may be causing confusion.
Also, can you tell me which tracks were available in DVD-RB and which were selected for removing?

@ tom942
I had the same problem when I tried to backup my Aliens Dir. cut PAL. If you look in the end of this thread you'll see the solution I used. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=114575

Thanks for the referenced thread... that helps.
I think I see what's happening now. The problem is that DVD-RB mistakenly determined the track as "unreferenced" -- I just followed the code, and I can see how that could happen in this particular set of circumstances.
I've corrected it for the next version.

@tom942
Could you still send me the original IFO? I'd like to test it and make sure its what I thought it was.
Thanks.

I'll send you the ones I've got from RipIt4me and the ones from DVDRemake. I thought that I had deleted them. I hope that this one can help you :).
Edit: I have sent it from my hotmail account: tom_942@...
