Hello there,
Allthough i am not new to authoring (i use Maestro), i am new to scenarist.
What i want to do, is take a Full DVD (interlaced NTSC DVD9), and only add a new menu (subtitles ON/OFF) and add subtitles that i have created (the original doesn't have any subtitle stream), while keeping everything else intact.
I know how to do all these in Maestro, but it is a lot of work doing this manually.
So i gave a try with DVDReauthor (notice that i don't need to re-encode), and i created the Scenarist script.
In a few words, all hard work (manual work on Maestro), is done automatically with this program.
Ok, now i need to ADD a new Subtitles Menu , where the viewer can choose to have the Subs, ON or OFF.
In Maestro, it is very simple.
I just go to BUTTONS tab, choose my ON button and Check "Set Subtitle to 1" and ON
Then for OFF button, i do the same, with the only difference that i do not check ON for the subtitles stream 1.
I have read a topic here, discussing about ON/OFF on Scenarist, but to tell the truth, i got lost with all these commands.
Is it so hard to achieve that in Scenarist?
Is there a simple way to do that?
Can someone be polite to explain to me how to do it?
Also, i did a test on adding Subtitles, but as i read here, there is a problem with NonDrop Frame, and i do have a synch problem.
Notice that the project has been created from DVDReauthor, so is impossible to recreate all the project again, using DropFrame, from project settings.
To overcome this, waht i did was to compile the project without subs, and then, by using "SubtitleCreator", i went to DVD Authoring Wizard.
There i choose my subtitle (first saved as SUP), then compiled again.
This time Subtitles where in synch. Why?
I hope someone can help me with my questions, cause i assume it is not hard for someone experienced with Scenarist.
So to sumarize,
I need to:
1)ADD new Menu with 2 selections (ON/OFF subtitles) and a Main button to link to main menu.
2) ADD Subtitles.
As i said above, the subtitles problem is partially solved (tricky way), but my main problem is the New Menu (where i must put it), and the BUTTONS commands i need to put in sub selections.
Realy appreciate any help here.
EDIT:
Can the above questions be done using other methods?
For example, using VobBlanker, PGCEdit, or other?
Regards
