Hi guys
I created my DL DVD project via scenarist 3.0 and I set the layer break in the scenarist.
After I finished the biuld making in scenarist, I tried to burn via imgburn.
IT FINISHED AND VERIFIED OK AND SUCCESSFULLY !!!
my DVD DL recorder is plextor.
THE STRANGE THING IS :
The disk is only readable in plextor dvd-roms !!!! :stupid:
Other DVD-roms can just read the 1st layer.
What does it mean?
The imgburn verified successfully. Should I do anything? like changing book-type? if I should, tell me how and what type of book type I should use to burn a successfull DVD-VIDEO in my plextor
Thanks in advance

Hi, Why dont u try to export the discimage.dvd from scenarist and burn it with DVDDecrypter. Its a better method. Try it and tell us what happened.

ok, but I export my discimage.dvd and I burn it via imgburn. imgburn says:"data verification completed successfully"
Also the disc works completely ok in all plextor dvd-roms.
But in players, just 1st layer works ok.
I need to know is it better to use dvddecrypter to write an image file than imgburn? I see everywhere, everbody says that imgburn is the best !!!!

I used once imgburn to burn a .dvd file but the result did not play correctly. I cant remember what the problem was exactly but i burned the same image with dvddecrypter and it worked great. After that i only use dvddecrypter and i never had any problems.
I mostly use maxel dvd-rs but verbatim also.
A check will persuade us all!
PS. i use dvd decrypter 3.5.4.0

May be you set LB uncorrectly?
Try send ImgBurn's log to http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showforum=7
ImgBurn v2.1.0.0 did good work for me always. I burn image and set LB manually or burn VIDEO_TS folder and set LB from list, suggested by ImgBurn.

Well, when I want to set the layer break, there is just one choice in the LB window. Also the size of the L0 in the window, is the same with the number in the scenarist. So everything shows that LB is set correctly. But I don't know why it happens. Also I have another problem.
when I use AC3 for its audio, the disk will stop when it reaches to the LB point.
Very straeinght thing, please help meeeeeeeeeeee

Verbatim Disks.

This is exactly what I'm using.
But the only problem playing 2nd Layer occur
with older DVD-ROM models (Sony, Hitachi, LG).
Try changing book type setting for DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM
from ImgBurn and then your DL disc will play on any
standalone player. (Even when you have 'multiple'
Layer Breaks).

I created my DL DVD project via scenarist 3.0
Try to use sc 3.1, non-paradox advisable.

Well I guess you are asking how to change your Plextor's
book type settings:
... so:
Start ImgBurn (doesn't matter which version).
/using DVD Decrypter for burning is the same as using ImgBurn/
At the rightmost side next to 'Write Speed' and 'Copies' settings
there are two small icons - the right one says:
'Change Book Type ...' - click on it.
In the new window select 'Plextor' tab.
Go to 'Change For: ' dropdown box, choose
'Drive (DVD+R DL Media)',
go to 'New Setting:' and select there 'DVD-ROM'
and click 'Change' button.
The program should respod with 'Success'
That's it.
Actually if you you have one of those PC DVD-ROMs
like my Sony CRX-xxxxx these discs will still be unplayable,
but try to playback on your Plextor or
standalone player and it will be OK.
Also don't forget to check: http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/dl_burning_with_pgcedit.htm
Hope you'll be fine :)

Thanks for your help
But following what you said at the last, it seems my problem won't solve with your guide yet.
Then I need to know why should I change the book-type?

Well ... you shouldn't.
I do it for better compatibility with standalone players.
For example my Sony DVD-S525 (very old) and Pioneer DV-585A
both have no problems playing DVD+R DL media with
book type preset to DVD-ROM. Don't know if they will be OK
with book type=DVD+R DL. Don't forget some manufacturers
intentionally forbid playing R/RW media on their players.
(ex: Sony) Anyway my Sony CRX-xxxx DVD-ROM drive
refused to play L1 no matter what I've done,
but all burners I've tried (Plextor, NEC, Samsung, etc..)
are just fine.
