remove tings with pgcedit, size dont change?

Is it possible, that when i remove some trailers and other stuff with pgcedit 7.5 that the size of the DVD stays the same??


I had a DVD with 4 Trailers (all about 1:30 min) and some extra stuff like behind the scenes (8:00 min). I removed it and saved the DVD but the size was exactly the same as the original DVD, which confuses me a bit. The Trailers are in seperate VTS_ , not the same as the main movie. I substituded them with Black cell and did kill pgc playback.

Did you check the size of the vobs, ifos etc, not the VIDEO_TS folder? Remember PGCEdit creates a backup folder in the VIDEO_TS folder.

yeah checked that, i cpmared only the file, deletet the pgcedit backup folder, because i have always a backup of the movie.

PgcEdit doesn't remove the unreferenced cells automatically from the VOB files. After your edits with PgcEdit, you should process the processed titlesets (or the whole DVD) with FixVTS (with the option to remove the unref and blank cells ticked.)

When you want to remove all meterial of a specific domain (and it's something you can do here, as you said "The Trailers are in seperate VTS_ , not the same as the main movie."), you can also select any PGC of the domain and use the Blank All VTST Titles (or Blank all Menu PGCs in a menu domain.) This function removes everything from the domain, and optionally kills playback of all PGCs in the domain. The VOB files will be automatically replaced by a tiny (10KB) cell (or even removed completely if you select this option, available only when you process a menu domain.)

Anyway, as you have already modified the DVD, I suggest you process it with FixVTS. Use the "in place" option: it's really fast. You can launch FixVTS from the Tools menu of PgcEdit: it will be loaded automatically with the current DVD, and you can process either the current domain or the whole DVD.
