My KISS DP-500 has started to make a high pitch noise and I think it is time to change it. It served me for 3 years and I cannot complain, but it has started to show its age. I have to use MPEG4 Modifier in too much things these days and this is what I like to cut.

I have followed the excellent guide on the sticky but even after learning a lot of the new options I am still confused.

I am located in Norway and am needing these functions on the new player:

- Play XVID with packed bitstream (don't like to use MPEG4 Modifier anymore :) )
- SUB/IDX subtitles and SRT.
- A way to connect it to the network for streaming content to it instead of having to burn everything on DVD? Wireless can be a plus but if it just has Ethernet I can always buy a wireless bridge for putting the player on the air.
- Coax or optical. Don't need direct decoding as I have a digital audio receiver.
- SCART RGB connection or component.
- Excellent firmware support and an active community is a big plus.
- WMV would be nice to have but not necessary.
- Any other function and decoding format would be a plus.

I think I can find Pioneer ones easily here and I have heard good things about their quality. I am going to buy it most probably on the net because the local offer is limited. I am more behind quality than price, so if finding the best product will cost me a little more I really don't care if it is the right thing for me.

Thank you all.
