because the svcd i created, make no problems on my computer, but on the standalone, that i tested, that can play svcd, it doesn't work. i want to know, if this failes because of the standalone or because of cdrwin 3.8

I burn the cue files with CDRwin 3.8D and have never failed. I play my CD's on my standalone DVD player.

cdrwin is the gold standard when it comes to burning bin/cue ... they created the format if I am not completely mistaken.
Is your standalone SVCD-compatible? Which model do you have?

True, CDRWin did make the bin/cue format, but I find it buggy. So I always use FireBurner. It has yet to fail me. Here's my settings for Fireburn.er:

Since we use a variety of burning programs, some with more/less success, perhaps we should quiry forum readers as to their preferred method of burning SVCD bin/cue images:

CDRWin 3.8
FireBurner 2.1
CDRDAO.bat (DDogg's method)
VCD(Imager)Easy - gui for VCDImager and CDRDAO
Nero
Adaptec
Other

I would like to set up this poll on another thread but I think it must be done by a moderator. Any thoughts?

Cdrwin 4.0a for me is brilliant.
Fireburner absolutly hates my writer and reports that it is not compatible for burning any cdr's :) which i found very funny.

i am having problems with OVERBURNING in fireburner. When I select Track-At-Once everything works with a BIN/CUE file of the correct size (740MB approx) but when I burn a BIN/CUE file of 770MB (my media will overburn to 78:30 mins when burning data) the burn will not complete properly. Anyway I read that Track-At-Once does not support overburning (is this true?) & that I would have to select DISK-AT-ONCE in order to overburn. The problem is that every time I try to burn in DISC-AT-ONCE mode fireburner doesn't work & spits out this error:
Thread2: Write Error @ Sector -11080
Thread2: Sense Error: ILLEGAL_REQUEST (COMMAND SEQUENCE ERROR) (0x05 0x2C 0x00)
Thread2: Synchronizing Cache
Recording complete

I am using DVD2SVCD to create my SVCD's & using VCDXbuild to create the bin/cue files.

Is overburning an imposibility with SVCD or am I just doing it wrong.

I have also tried using nero 5.5.6.4 to write off the bin/cue files but every time i open the cue file it says: An error occured while loading the cue sheet file 'D:\VCDimager_image_fileCD0.cue'. (line1).

Im going to try blind write & see how i go with that.

Thanks if anyone can help:)
