Hello All, I was having a problem with an SVCD on CDR so I've extracted the mpg with ISObuster and now want to cut a peice of the video out. Any good programs for doing that which doesn't PAD the output? I tried a program called EasyMPEG MX but it pads the output so it's to big to fit on the CDR.

Thanks

Hi!

One method:

TMPGEnc>>File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

Yeah, I tried that but it is very crappy. It doesn't cut where I tell it to so the remainder of the video is out of sync.

Try Mpeg-VCR... :)

The problem with that one is when you save your video, it re-encode the whole video with a crappy encoder.

I need to use the slider to get to where i need to start cutting do I not?

I need to use the slider to get to where i need to start cutting do I not?You certainly can, but you don't have to. You can set the beginning and ending "Range" times without using the slider...

but I don't acually know the exact time. When I use the slider then play a bit and pause where I want to start cutting it says 08:42.11 then start the next part until end at 09:12.45 but when I look at the final video the picture where I cut it at 08:42.11 is not correct, it's actually further ahead than what I wanted.

Perhaps you should try some alternatives, such as "MPEG2Cut.EXE", or "Cuttermaran", or one of the "Womble" products...

Ok, I'll try them.

Actually, if I don't change any of the settings in mpeg2vcr when saving the file it won't re-encode :)

Sure, if you save only, it will do it in "direct stream copy"... :)
