Menu button highlight problem

Greetings peepz,

I was wondering if any of you have come across an issue similar to this and have any suggestions on how to correct it?

Overview

I have created a new menu containting two buttons
the buttons aren't visable in normal mode
when selected they are opaque red
when activated they are bold red
everything works great during testing with powerdvd 5
menu appears ok in PGCedit
when played on a standalone however, they dont work right

What should happen is:

the first button is opaque and if selected goes bold red
if i navigate to the other button it goes opaque red and bold red if selected and vice versa.

What actually happens is:

the first button is opaque, if selected goes bold red and plays the relevant movie
if i navigate to the othe button rather then go opaque red to show this movie is selected. It is bold and plays the relevant movie

As always comment/suggestions appreciated

Auto activate is assigned to the buttons (Auto activate does not work on most softwareplayer, so it works on PowerDVD).

True, auto avtivate is assigned i'm sure, but surely auto avtivate should work on a stand alone without issue?

Dont know what you want....
If "Auto Activate" is assigned, a selected button will be activated immediately, so if you want just to select a button you have to remove "Auto Activate".

ok i guess i miss understood its function probably due to what you said in previous post about Auto activate does not work on most softwareplayeri will try again when i have more time.

Hum, it's the first time I heard about that. What's the behaviour of the player then? When an autoactivating button is selected, you cannot see it on screen (at least if it has been created the standard way), but you have to push Select to activate it? Right?
That's crazy. Seems easy to implement the autoactivate feature. Is this problem caused by another discrepancy in the specs?

To be more specific.
AFAIK "auto activation" is disabled for mouse operation in all software DVD players, using arrow-keys or similar should work as in set-top players.

e.g.

a menu like that on screen

button1---button2---button3
button4---button5---button6
button7---button8---button9

Using the mouse you can not (respectively it is difficult) select button5 without move over any other button (and so select and activate them).

OK. I understand. You cannot autoactivate a button with the mouse without clicking it. And since often the autoactivate button is hidden and too small to click on it with the mouse anyway, you have to use the cursors keys to select it. When using the keyboard, the autoactivate feature works as expected.

Just to confirm autoactivation was on, tnxs bigotti5 for the info as i didnt know this, anyway i reburned the DVD with the corrections to my menu and everything works like a charm.
